Despite the fact that Israel was surrounded by enemies and they lived in caves and in hiding, the LORD was still bringing them peace. The Lord was bringing them true peace.

The ancient Hebrews had a very specific concept of peace. It meant safety, prosperity, health, and wholeness. They believed that peace was the result of their obedience to God.
