Dead in Hebrew – What is a Metsar?

A metsar, or mtym, is a plural suffix which adds to a root name. It can be translated as trouble, straits, or enemy. The root is TSr, or “pressed in”, which also means the same thing. Often it is prefixed with the letter “mem” which means “what is…”. In most cases, the word is pronounced as an eeym, or yeem.
